Depending on your situation. Ruby is the first choice in most cases for me, unless there is a better solutions or I have no choice, for example: Javscript in browser.

How to choose?

Consider this questions:

• What language is the standard in your target platform.
• What language is using in your favorite company.
• What language is using by your favorite developer.
• What language make you happy.

选择你最擅长的，如果你都不会的话，那为何又指定为 python 和 ruby 呢？还有很多可以考虑的。

你学了做什么？如果没有特别的目的的话，为何不能都学一下呢？

我倒觉得 py 的缩进挺好的

习惯用 IDE 选 Python，习惯用文本编辑器选 Ruby

话说我十分好奇，Ruby 和 Python 在设计语言的时候最大差异是什么？

如果你只是做或关注 web app, 无疑是 ruby, 比较酷，除此，python. python 的应用范围比 Ruby 广得多。选择语言，不只是语言本身，还有库，平台，社区！
