After some great advice from the community here I'm editing my job requirements.

We're building Tracre a next gen property technology platform. We're in stealth mode so best if we discuss details later. However, I can say it's never been done before and if we succeed it will change one of the biggest markets in the world.

We need a senior backend developer who can help architect, build and scale Tracre. The following skills would be great:

• Good with Ruby on Rails (RoR) and JavaScript, Mongodb • Fluent in one or more languages (Python, Java, C++, C#, Perl, PHP, etc). • Implement APIs including but not limited to: mailChimp, mailGrid, newRelic, Sentry, PaperTrail, LogStack, Full Story, external services for messaging / realtime • Familiar with deploying and scaling on AWS/Heroku • Experience developing WeChat applications and familiarity with Kafka/Spark would be good for the future but is not necessary. • Future-proofing mentality • Use of MVC, templating, ORMs. • Write clean well documented code. • Conversational English

Familiarity with the commercial real estate industry is NOT a requirement. Few people understand the industry which is one of the key reasons why so few good technology solutions exist in this enormous market.

Salary and equity is negotiable and will depend on how awesome you are.

We work out of Jing An near 悦达 889, SOHO style. Our lean team is a mix of nationalities from around the world. We're casual but work hard with a can do attitude.

Looking forward to hearing from you! If you're in the neighbourhood, drop me a wechat and we can go for coffee.

Here is what I think:

  • This is practically a job ad posted in a wrong category with a nonsensical title.
  • It's not even a proper job ad. You probably haven't read the rules at all: https://ruby-china.org/topics/25579
  • The English... well actually it smells more like Chinglish to me. You probably need to put some work into it if you really want to keep your job as an international recruiter (assuming you are, that is). 或者如果你懂中文,就直接说中文好了。Ruby China 上的人应该都懂中文的。

Thanks for your criticism.

  1. Apologies. I wasn't sure where to post this as I'm new to this site.

The title is a nod to Winston Churchill's quotation, "It is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma; but perhaps there is a key". The title was written to be a little self-deprecating and humorous. One would have to have a good knowledge of english and history to understand the joke.

  1. You are correct. I have not read the rules.

  2. My English is exceptionally good. I'm certainly not an international recruiter. I'm the founder.

  3. There is a link at the bottom of the site for English. Why would this link exist if only Chinese speakers were welcome? I'm trying to hire a Chinese person who can speak English. To that end it makes perfect sense that I write in English.

  4. While I do appreciate constructive criticism, I suggest you learn how to be less hostile. Aggression and condescension indicates a fundamental lack of maturity. Manners maketh man. Grow up.

吃瓜群众围观一下

我点了好几下底部的 English, 发现没有什么卵用,向洋大人问好

My quick translation for the requirements of hiring posts. Not exactly accurate, but might be helpful. https://ruby-china.org/topics/34298

我觉得 ruby 圈的小伙子们都能读懂英文 JD,所以就放心发英文的文案吧。如果想尽快熟悉论坛,点个 google translate 翻译全站吧!祝好
