Principal Web Developer

Summary: The China Research team at Nuance Communications, Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated senior or principal level web application developer for AI research data web application projects. The successful candidate will have expert knowledge and hands-on experience maintaining and developing secure web applications.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and develop secure web applications in support of AI research projects
• Provide work estimates and manage prioritization (own projects)
• Write specifications, test and release code
• Take initiative to find suggest improvements including engaging with stakeholders

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications: Minimum of BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent, Master ’ s degree preferred. Plus either 5+ years of work experience or significant hands-on coursework utilizing Ruby on Rails. New graduates with strong skills and drive considered; level will depend on candidate ’ s experience.

Required Skills:

• Senior Principal level web app development including secure applications
• Full SDLC
• Unix/Linux
• MySQL
• Scripting skills, especially Python and use of regular expressions
• JavaScript/CoffeeScript, HTML/CSS
• Ruby on Rails
• Communicates effectively in written and spoken English
