Faria Education Group 的 OpenApply 部门正在寻找找一名中级后端工程师。该角色将密切参与新功能开发和维护现有的应用程序。

OpenApply 是一个面向世界领先的国际独立学校的招生管理系统和 CRM，支持申请人从了解和意愿登记到招生和注册的整个过程。

期望：

主要职责：

根据提供的规格开发新功能；
维护现有应用程序（修复错误，迁移到新的 Rails 版本，刷新用户界面）；
与其他团队（公司内部和外部团队）互动，就应用程序和 API 的集成进行沟通。

所需技能：

2+ 年 RoR 软件开发经验
Ruby on Rails（6+ 版本）
关联式数据库（MySQL，PostgreSQL 为佳）
前端（HTML，CSS3，Vue，jQuery，CoffeeScript，SASS，Bootstrap）
对面向对象程序设计有很好的理解，熟悉 MVC，Mocking，ORM 和 RESTful 的概念
自动化测试（RSpec），持续集成

根据选定的环境和方法，撰写单元测试和整合测试。

优化

使用专门工具分析产品性能和资源使用情况，找出产品的瓶颈。

重构

在既定架构的范围内，对子系统（模块）进行重构。

建议和讨论功能/错误修复范围的更改，以改进整体架构;

The OpenApply division of Faria Education Group is looking for one Intermediate Backend Engineer. The role will be heavily involved with new feature developments and maintaining the existing application.

OpenApply is an admissions management system & CRM serving over 600 of the world’s leading international & independent schools, supporting the applicant from discovery & inquiry to admissions & enrolment.

Ability to be self-driven, take initiative, and work under pressure.

Maintenance of existing applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

New features development based on the provided specifications
Maintaining the existing applications (bug fixes, migration to new Rails versions, UI refresh).
Interacting with the other teams (within the company and external) regarding the integration of the applications and API.

Skills & Competencies

2+ years of experience of RoR software development expertise.
Ruby on Rails (versions 6+).
RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL is a plus).
Frontend (HTML, CSS3, Vue, jQuery, CoffeeScript, SASS, Bootstrap).
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and familiarity with MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTful concepts.
Automated testing (RSpec), continuous integration.

Creating clear, consistent, well-commented, highly maintainable, and accurate code matches agreed-upon conventions;

Working with issue-tracking software.

Version Control

Working with version control systems.
Committing verified changes with comprehensive comments.
Carefully checking diffs before code commit.
Splitting code commits according to the atomic chunk of functionality.
Resolving conflicts in the codebase.

Optimization

Using special tools for analyzing product performance resource usage to determine product bottlenecks.

Refactoring

Refactoring sub-systems (modules) in the scope of defined architecture

Capabilities & Character

Ensure the estimation provided by team members is accurate.
Suggest and discuss changes to feature/bugfix scope, which will improve the general architecture.
Estimate (accuracy 70% minimum) and implement new features related to curricula.
Resolve escalated items from the application support team related to S1-S5 defects on production.

Intermediate DevOps Engineer

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer, who will be responsible for and take ownership of reliability, automation, and other issues related to “keeping the lights on” across Faria’s multi-product SaaS systems stack. You will be a part of developing infrastructure software, maintaining it, and scaling it. This role will specifically focus on supporting our OpenApply product.

Faria is a leader in international education systems & services offering an integrated systems suite across learning, admissions, school-to-home, and online courses & study services to over 10,000 schools and 4 million students in 155 countries. OpenApply is an admissions management system & CRM, serving over 600 of the world’s leading international and independent schools.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the DevOps Manager, you will be responsible for:

Reliably automate the server provisioning process to reduce the labor of our R&D team.
Monitor and mitigate potential security vulnerabilities, enforce and strengthen security policies, and manage security risks (e.g. DDoS, bug bounty, etc.).
Implement the systems and processes that Product Developers use to deploy their software into production.
Incident Management: with proactive remote communication and as the bridge between support & engineering teams. Improving process and mitigation through retrospectives.
Because of the nature of the DevOps Engineer role you should also be prepared for on-call shifts and potential “all-hands-on-deck” situations at any hour of the day or night. Minimizing those situations is part of your job!

ABOUT YOU

Minimum of 3+ years of system administration experience for a high-usage, web-based software service ideally built using open-source software components.
Knowledge of Amazon AWS services and API’s including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM.
Knowledge and familiarity with alerts & monitoring tools, and system management tools for Linux environments (including DataDog, Nginx, NewRelic, CloudFlare, MySQL/PostgreSQL, Apache, IPTables, ELK stack.
Knowledge and familiarity with configuration management tools including Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
Knowledge of deploying/troubleshooting/tuning Ruby on Rails applications (Passenger, Capistrano, Sidekiq, Bundler) will be an advantage.
Excellent practical experience with alerts & monitoring tools, and system management tools for Linux environments.
Strong communication skills in English with an ability to coordinate the incident response with urgency.
Proper remote presence & etiquette (acknowledging requests in a timely fashion over Slack, not leaving requests unacknowledged at all).
Effective adherence to operating procedures (organizing day-to-day work and large-scale tasks in a calm manner with priority-driven sequencing).

1. Rails 工程师 (Senior Rails Engineer) 15k - 35k

a. Role description 工作内容：

This is a high-level, full-time, development position in our new Shanghai office. We expect you to be able to contribute to the development of high-quality software solutions with minimal guidance. You should already be familiar with web development using Ruby on Rails, and have experience using and creating complex solutions. You will need the ability to quickly learn and maintain a mature codebase. We also value high-quality UI/UX work that matches our emphasis on customer service.

b. Responsibilities 工作职责：

Successfully drive the internationalization of OpenApply for the Chinese market, with specific attention to database and other backend issues.
Integrate with China-specific APIs from other services.
Support Chinese customers in their use of OpenApply as needed by our S&S organisation.
Troubleshoot functionality issues, suggest and implement solutions.
Assist our DevOps team with administration of servers in China.
Work effectively as part of a worldwide, remote-first team.

c. Requirements 具备以下技能：

Minimum of 4+ years writing web applications in Ruby on Rails. Rails 5 experience a plus.
Good working knowledge of Ruby and JavaScript.
Experience with source code control via Git and GitHub.
Experience with code quality and continuous integration tools.
Experience with work as part of a global team.
